Vidya Rajan

Artist, Writer
Vidja Rajan is a writer, comic, and performance-maker from Perth, now calling Melbourne home.

She likes working across a number of genres and forms including live art, comedy, devised and written performance.

Recent works include Last night (WAYTCO), DeAr BeLoVed, A completely unified theory of you+me (TiNA), Aaaaunty (ASIATOPA), Solidity, Asian Ghost-ery Store (Griffin Batch Theatre Fest 2018, Melbourne Fringe Award 2015) and Friendquest (Fringe World Theatre Nominee 2015).

Vidja was a 2016 Wheeler Centre Hot Desk Fellow and completed a Masters in Writing for Performance from the VCA. She also has trained and performed extensively in improvisation in Australia and the States.

She was recently selected for a Room of One’s Own Residency with the Women’s Circus, Melbourne Festival’s Director’s Lab Program and Westerly’s Emerging Writer mentorship program and is currently working with Screen Australia and Lonely Company.

 

Asian Ghost-ery Store has its Sydney debut in the Batch Festival at Griffin Theatre in 2018.
