Matthew Cheetham has worked in the entertainment for almost 14 years in a variety of roles.
Matthew holds an Advanced Diploma in Business Management (2009) from TAFE NSW, and a Bachelor of Performing Arts (2015) from Actor’s Centre Australia.
Matthew’s employment history includes as an entertainment agent and logistics manager for The Mushroom Group, from 2009 to 2012, and as a staff writer for theMusic.com.au (formerly Drum Media Magazine/Street Press Australia) from 2005 to 2010.
As an actor, Matthew has appeared on stage in The Flick by Annie Baker at the Seymour Centre (Director: Craig Baldwin), Birdland by Simon Stephens at the New Theatre (Director: Anthony Skuse) and Kayak by Katherine Thomson at the Old Fitz Theatre (Director: Adam Cook).
Matthew has appeared on screen in Les Norton (ABC/Roadshow), Growing Up Gracefully (ABC/Stan), Manhunt (Channel 7), Deadly Women (Netflix/Discovery Channel) and Ladylike (Chekhov’s Gun Pictures).
From 2017 to 2019, Matthew was the associate producer for Red Line Productions, predominantly operating out of Sydney’s Old Fitz Theatre, during which period the company were the recipients of nine Sydney Theatre Awards including Best Independent Production.
Matthew has independently produced various independent theatre productions including Moth by Declan Greene at ATYP (Director: Rachel Chant), Kayak by Katherine Thomson at the Old Fitz Theatre (Director: Adam Cook), and the forthcoming Wink by Jen Silverman at Kings X Theatre (Director: Anthony Skuse), as well as assistant directing Babes In The Woods by Philip Rouse (Director: Philip Rouse), and Angels In America by Tony Kushner (Director: Dino Dimitriadis), both at the Old Fitz Theatre.
Matthew has additionally worked in a variety of technical behind the scenes roles on various short films, and in artist management roles for various music festivals including Laneway Festival, Big Day Out and Soundwave Festival.
