The multi-award winning British theatre company Hoipolloi is Shôn Dale-Jones, who makes his Wollongong debut with two masterful works of storytelling.
Winner of the Edinburgh Festival’s Fringe First award, The Duke playfully blends fantasy and reality with the woven stories of the tragi-comic fate of a porcelain figure of The Duke of Wellington, the quandary of a scriptwriter stretching his integrity, and an unfolding disaster as thousands of children flee their homes.
Me & Robin Hood is about one man’s relationship with his favourite fictional friend. Shôn first met Robin Hood in 1975, as a seven-year-old boy, and they’ve been good mates ever since. Robin’s been pretty upset recently. This show is his idea. He’s convinced we need to change the story of money if we really want to do something about the growing gap between rich and poor.
