Date: 20 Oct 2020

Set in 8th century Europe but informed by the counter-culture movements of the late 1960s, Stephan Schwartz’s Pippin is a pop fantasy focused on the restless son of King Charlemagne and his quest for fulfilment.

Can Pippin attain it by following in dad’s tyrannical footprints? Guided by a character known only as The Leading Player, Pippin seeks success on the battlefield, in the bedroom and finally in an ill-fated revolution.

This production is the winner of four Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival.

Ainsley Melham is Pippin. Gabrielle McClinton is the Leading Player. Simon Burke, Lucy Maunder, Euan Doidge, Leslie Bell and Kerri-Anne Kennerley feature.
