Natalia Osipova’s Pure Dance

Date: 10 Jul 2019

Few dancers boast a career as stellar as Natalia Osipova.

A Russian powerhouse of ballet, her unparalleled technique and artistic versatility have taken her across the globe, from the Bolshoi to the American Ballet Theatre, and most recently to The Royal Ballet in London as a principal artist.

Pure Dance is a work of Osipova’s own creation. Witness a legend stepping in to her stylistic potential, and curating a path through repertoire that showcases her virtuosic talent. Experience classical masterpieces by Anthony Tudor and Alexei Ratmansky alongside contemporary works by Iván Pérez, Roy Assaf, Yuka Oishi and Kim Brandstrup. The program, which features compositions from the likes of Dvořák and Sibelius and music prodigy Nico Muhly, will evoke “eeriness, desolation and giddy joy” (The Guardian).

Osipova will perform both solo and in duets, with featured artists Jonathan Goddard and Jason Kittelberger. In addition, her dynamic partnership with American Ballet Theatre and Bolshoi star David Hallberg (also a resident guest artist with The Australian Ballet) is your chance to witness the modern ballet world’s most highly respected pairing.
