Motimaru: Twilight/MUT

Date: 25 Apr 2018

Motimaru Dance Company (Berlin) in association with Liminal Creative present two works of experimental dance theatre.

Directed, choreographed and danced by Motoya Kondo and Tiziana Longo, Twilight “questions the fundamental purpose of human art, and searches for a new dance method to walk down the stairs towards the depth of our being through the subtlest movement within”.

MUT is a “collective solo that includes stories from women of different countries and cultures that come to be taken as icons and represent the contradicted faces of our society”.

Motimaru is a dance company founded in Tokyo by Kondo and Longo, based in Berlin since 2010. Their background is in performing arts, modern dance, martial arts, and Butoh.

The company has performed in the finale of the Marathon of the Unexpected at Venezia Biennale 2010, 9th International Choreography Competition “No Ballet”, International Dance Festival Lucky Trimmer2016, and has performed and taught in more than 30 cities in Europe, Asia and Australia.
