Angela loves Jack. Jack cons Angela. After being swindled out of her life’s savings, Angela blackmails Jack into being with her.

Together they hatch a scheme to get rich by killing lonely widows and stealing off with their fortunes.

Written by Grahame Koehne and Louis Nowra, Love Burns is a chamber opera in two acts based on the true crime story of the so-called “Honeymoon killers”, a couple of con artists who operated on America’s West Coast in the 1950s.

Eugene Lynch directs. Susie Bishop, Gavin Brown, Billie Palin, Stella Hannock and Andrew O’Connor feature.
