Griffin Theatre extends closure

Date: 14 May 2020

“With a heavy heart”, Griffin Theatre Company Artistic Director Declan Greene has announced an extension of the closure of Griffin until September.

As a result, the scheduled productions of FEAR by Oliver Twist, Wherever She Wanders by Kendall Feaver, No Standing. No Dancing. by Phil Spencer, and Is There Something Wrong With That Lady? by Debra Oswald and The Falls by Hilary Bell will be postponed.

At this stage, depending on a relaxation of social distancing and gathering regulations, Griffin hopes to open in early September, with the Patrick White Award-winning Superheroes by Mark Rogers. Shari Sebbens will direct.

“Personally, I’m busting to get back into the theatre but I realise that might not be the case for everyone,” say Greene, acknowledging that audience confidence will also be key to the company’s fortunes in coming months.
