Fool for Love

Date: 21 Dec 2018

In a flyblown motel room overlooking the Mojave Desert, playwright Sam Shepard depicts a relationship crisis that’s been years in the making.

Rodeo stuntman Eddie (Lachlan Ruffy) has driven over two thousand miles to corral half-sister/lover May (Kate Betcher) who, during his long and repeated absences, has sought to establish a new life. Eddie wants to take May to the wilds of Wyoming. She wants anything but.

As they verbally tear into each other, the details of their dark secret are revealed. Vicious, passionate and destructive, Sam Shepard’s flair for the damaged is in full flight.

Julie Baz directs. Joel Horwood and Neil McLeod also feature.
