Two of Australia’s leading dancers, Narelle Benjamin and Paul White, unite to discover the natural symmetry in us and around us.
From the Latin cella, meaning “small room”, emerges this tale of the cycles and systems within all of us, within everything, and how they change over time.
Questioning egocentricity and the cult of the individual, Benjamin and White seek out the beauty in our similarities. After all, aren’t the most complex structures in our biological system the same for all of us?
Benjamin is a contemporary choreographer with a special interest in the perceptiveness of her body. White is the first new addition to the world-renowned Wuppertal Dance Theater in its post-Pina Bausch era. Together, in a series of intricate and varied patterns, they come together in wonderful mirror images, almost like human Rorschach tests.
