Date: 13 Jun 2018

Verdi’s Aida returns to the Sydney Opera House in an Australian premiere production by Italian director and designer Davide Livermore conveying the scale and opulence demanded by this most monumental of operas.

American soprano Amber Wagner, who made her OA debut in the 2016 Melbourne Ring Cycle, sings the title role, with Australian soprano Natalie Aroyan making her main-stage role debut as Aida in the second half of the season.

Joining them will be the Italian tenor Riccardo Massi as Radamès, and, in her OA debut, the French-Russian mezzo-soprano Elena Gabouri will play Amneris.
